Cut Short | ||

Like many cyclists I have a GPS device that displays the route on rides. But on routes plotted by the great Andy Key, a fan of Wahoo GPS devices, my Garmin GPS devices cut short the warning messages he adds to the routes.
We’re lost We’ve lost the art of maps Lost our way and no longer see the road
Now things don’t exist Unless the computer says they do
Instead we need GPS to navigate life’s maze Even to weave down country lanes on summer days
But now my computer talks gibberish it seems It warns of hazards and perils But only through cryptic clues
“Danger Bus” it beeps - What? I see no bus, no people conveyance No bus on this busy road.
“Caution Cat” it warns - Where? I see no cat, no feline prowler Lurking to leap as I cross the cattle grid..
“Turn sligh” it tells me - Why? Maybe in its confusing grammar, it means sly cunning crafty tricky Well, I’ll try, just around this slight bend
